Dutch is a rescue and due to changes in our family we no longer have the ability to give him the life he deserves. My wife's roommate abandoned Dutch after leaving him with some bad habits. His habits are not the problem for us, we have twin babies under 2 years old and Dutch has never been around children. It's not that he's violent he just doesn't understand children and becomes very agitated. We are afraid to risk our children to find out whether he can be around very young children or not. He has never had anything happen to him by children, he has just has no experience. He is very prey driven which is probably standard from his cur dog side. He is beautiful and fast and very protective of his house and his people. He is crate trained and has very good manners but he does not like new people or a lot of men. He is very protective of my wife. He does not care for cats or small animals. He is fine with some other dogs including small dogs. He is leashed trained but he cannot be off leash whatsoever outside of a pen. We have tried to train him but we were too little too late and now our time has grown short and we cannot get him out to leash walk or let him out as much as he needs. He could be a great dog with some training and I'm sure he's capable than more than I can imagine with the right training and human. That's what we want for him and that's what we are hoping he will find. He can hunt I am sure that's why he's just misplaced and we can no longer contain and protect him. We don't feel any choice but to look for a new home for him and we are asking a rehoming fee to make sure that he finds his way to someone to care for him and the means to care for him.
