Clover is a bright, silly, curious, and affectionate young Mastiff who has blossomed beautifully in foster care with me. When she arrived at BARCS, she didn't understand toys, play, or even how to just be a dog. Clover would flinch at every movement but couldn't hide her bubbly personality and angelic nature. Within weeks, she became a happy girl who fetches balls, learns quickly, and loves connecting with people she trusts. When she sees her people or gets wind of an impending walk, she does her own special happy dance. She is fabulous on a leash and has excellent recall. It truly breaks my heart to find myself in this position. Clover came into my home 5 months ago as a foster along with her companion Ginger after having been removed from a home by Animal Control. A family member expressed a strong desire to adopt Ginger after she had spent time with me recovering from the trauma of her former life. My daughter wanted so badly to keep Clover and Ginger together so I relented and adopted them both. That family member unfortunately backed out of our agreement (for reasons other than Ginger herself), and I am finding it difficult to meet Clover and Ginger's needs. Both financially and in terms of time. They both deserve more. I recently lost a beloved pup in June, and this makes the decision to re-homing them all the more difficult for me. She is very very responsive to training, and I wish so badly that I was able to give her the time and attention that will inevitably help her to shine. As a guardian breed, she has settled into our home and developed a sense of protectiveness. With continued training and consistency, she will demonstrate the same reliable guardianship in a new home. Please help me find this absolute sweetheart the perfect home!
