NOTE: She is not necessarily bad with kids. We just have no experience. Ginger is a gentle girl who came to me as a foster, along with her companion Clover, from the shelter having been taken from a home by Animal Control. She was scared, shut down, and unsure of the world. With patience and kindness, she has opened into a snuggly, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than a safe, steady home and a trusted human to bond with. She is goofy and playful, occasionally 'talking back'. She is very good at communicating her needs but can be a little bit stubborn. She shows a lot of traits of a Boerboel but we are not certain of her breed other than Mastiff. She is fabulous on a leash and has excellent recall, her stubbornness notwithstanding. She started as a foster with me when a family member expressed a strong desire to adopt her. I was asked to continue caring for her for a few months as she recovered from the trauma of her former life. That family member unfortunately backed out of our agreement (for reasons other than Ginger herself), and I am finding it difficult to meet Ginger's needs. Both financially and in terms of time. She deserves more. I recently lost a beloved pup in June and this makes re-homing her all the more difficult for me. Although Ginger has opened up to us, she is still hesitant of the world around her and sometimes new people (especially men). I feel that with the right person, she will create a similar if not even deeper bond. Ginger is truly a diamond in the rough.
