SOS - FLORIDA URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED - 24 HOURS . This is Scooby, he doesn't know it yet but he is about to lose his foster home and get let down once again. If a new foster or adopter is not found within the next day, he will be dumped at a kill shelter. Scooby's current foster took on more than she can handle and is currently fostering multiple other animals as well. She has made it clear that she cannot continue caring for Scooby and that if placement is not found immediately, she will be surrendering him to the shelter. This is a truly last-minute and devastating situation.he will not survive a shelter. . Scooby was once a loved family dog. When his family was deported, he was left behind and forced to survive on the streets of the Redlands for six months. He was even featured on local news during multiple sightings. When he was finally caught, he was exhausted, beaten up, and had clearly given up. With love and safety, he slowly came back to life-and now melts into anyone willing to show him affection. He craves human connection. Ending up in a shelter would be catastrophic for him. A dog this social and attached would deteriorate quickly. . About Scooby: *1 year old, healthy, neutered * Up to date on vaccines and preventatives *High energy; makes a great running or activity partner *Absolute favorite thing: curling up on your lap to cuddle *Would thrive with someone home often who can provide exercise, structure, and affection . We are working on crate training-he struggles with it due to how attached he is-but progress is being made. I am willing to fully cover the cost of a professional trainer if needed. Happy to help with supplying his food and toys as well. He does have a high prey drive, so he is likely not suitable for homes with small animals. He has not yet been tested with large dogs, but meet-and-greets can absolutely be arranged. Scooby has a few manageable behavioral quirks from surviving alone on the streets, but they are fixable, especially given his age and eagerness to please. Give him structure, love, and a 'job,' and he is incredibly happy. . Please-if you can foster even temporarily, or if you are interested in adopting, reach out immediately. A temporary foster could save his life and give us more time to network him. Scooby has already endured more hardship than any dog should in such a short life.
