Hi! This is Tank! He was found abandoned in an alleyway, tied up to a fence. Apparently by an immature 18 year old who had just gotten him only 3 weeks prior. I heard about him needing a safe place to stay until his forever home was found and I gladly stepped in. So here we are! Tank is excited about life! He loves meeting new people, cuddling and getting all the pets! He loves to play with toys inside and outside. He gets really goofy when he is playing outside, its something you really have to see! I rescued Tank and and I need to find him a forever home. Tank is up to date on vaccines. He has been neutered. He has no medical conditions. He has no special dietary needs. Tank is very mellow indoors but loves to know whats going on in the house with me and is always keen to go outside. He loves running around outside, playing with his favorite bone by tossing it in the air and trying to catch it as well as leaping into the air with it in his mouth. I think the ideal home for Tank would be one where he is the only pet. He is currently living with my dog Kernel and myself. He loves Kernel, but has occasionally lashed out at him, this was early on when he was first brought into my home. 99% of the time, they get along beautifully. Tank has met other dogs that he likes on walks, but he is very particular and sometimes he is unsure of them and can be a bit much. He CRAVES affection. I think it would be best to have him as the only pet so he can get the love and attention he deserves. He absolutely loves pets, belly rubs, scratches, being talked to, and cuddled with. I don't know if he would be good with cats or other animals, but we've never been in the same house as them since he has been staying with me. Tank would benefit from seeing a trainer/ getting someone skilled to work with him. He does respond well treats. He has ADD and can't focus at times: Because of this he occasionally goes potty in his crate if he fails to go when outside. So he needs to be monitored (to ensure he goes number 1 & 2) in the backyard or taken on a walk before you leave the house. I always keep him in the crate when I leave the house. He can walk on a leash, but is very excited to go on walks and can pull a bit much. I walk him with a pinch collar and keep him close by my side and he pulls much less like that. He gets extremely excited about squirrels. He also gets very excited when he sees another dog when going on a walk. When seeing any animal, I gently tug on his leash and say 'leave it' to get him to focus on me and the walk. Tank has loved every women he's met since he has been with me. However he is picky when meeting other men. He loved me from the second we met, so he doesn't dislike all men obviously. I think the time with a proper trainer would do wonders for Tank. Side note: he doesn't seem to mind loud nosies as he enjoys spending time beside me while I play my drums. I am guessing on Tank's breed mix. To me he seems like half American Staffordshire Terrier and half shepherd, (perhaps half Dutch Shepherd?) He is very loving, sweet, and goofy. But he also likes to keep squirrels and birds out of my back yard as well as barking whenever he hears my front or rear gate opened. They both squeak, so he barks to say 'Hey! Who is that coming in my yard?' making him a good guardian/ watch dog. But other than hearing me come home, or hearing the UPS or Postman coming into the yard, he is NOT much of a barker. :) Asking for a $50 to go towards Rescueme.org to help them find continue their efforts to find animals in need their forever homes. I will give you Tank's steel collapsable dog crate which was purchased new for him. He will also come with a couple of collars and leash.
