About O'Neil

O'Neill is a beautiful guy, there is no denying that. But as with most Siberian Huskies, there is so much more to him than meets the eye! O'Neill loves to lean in for a good scratch session, and of course exploring the environment around him is what he dreams of. He gets so excited sometimes that he forgets how to walk on a leash, so looks forward to working on his leash manners with his new family. A bit of a ladies man, O'Neill would do best living either as an only dog or with a female dog - he really would prefer to not be reminded that other male dogs exist in the world! If you have a Husky-sized hole in your heart, O'Neill can't wait to meet you! 1) O'Neill would do best with an experienced owner who has owned Siberian Huskies in the past. His new home will also need to understand that O'Neill will not do well in a dog park, or necessarily off-leash where other dogs may be present. 2) O'Neill should be an only dog, or may be able to share his space with another female dog. He came in with an older female dog and did well with her, but doesn't enjoy being around other male dogs. 3) We don't know how O'Neill will be with cats or other small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions between your resident small animals and O'Neill with your adoption counselor. Although we haven't seen a prey drive here at the shelter, Siberian Huskies are known to have a higher prey drive than many other breeds. 4) Due to his energetic nature, O'Neill would do best living in a home that is either free of children or that has children who are least 13 years of age or older.
