Slim came to the Sanctuary about 3 weeks ago. He was found as a stray about 2 months ago, and had been neglected by the obvious state of his skin and how thin he was. He was medically treated by the Good Samaritans and then asked us to give Slim a soft place to lay his sweet old man head at night. Our veterinarians have aged Slim to be about 11 years old. Slim does come with some skin allergy issues. He is currently on a hydrolized protein diet, gets a medicated bath once a week and takes an OTC allergy pill to help the itch. This condition can be medically managed but be aware it may be a bit pricey for the special diet. Since being here, Slim has shown no signs of aggression towards any of the other hounds or cats. He can be a bit leary of men but we are working on that. No aggression, just fearful and reluctant to approach men. Slim knows how to sit, walks great on a leash, rides well in a car, is housetrained and is the absolute perfect gentleman. Slim is heartworm negative and current on vaccines and prevention. You are welcome to meet Slim here at the Sanctuary or we can transport. Let us know! Slim will make a great addition to any family.
