Nellie is 2.5year old sweetheart who has spent almost her entire life in a shelter and is finally getting her chance. Despite her tough start, Nellie is all heart: friendly, wiggly, affectionate, and so eager to bond with her people. She loves playing fetch, adores cuddles, enjoys car rides, walks nicely on leash, and is fully housebroken and crate trained. She's is social with other dogs and really shines in a home with a playful canine companion. Nellie is sweet, gentle taking treats, respectful with food, and loves being someone's shadow. She adjusts her play style for different dogs and tries hard to please. After two years in a shelter, she's blossoming into a loving, joyful companion. Because she's still learning the world, Nellie will do best in a home with experienced dog owner because she can be a bit of a 'nervous Nellie' with unfamiliar people. She can sometimes show mild toy possessiveness, which is why she would do best with a home with older kids who can be respectful around dogs. Nellie, like most dogs, can benefit from continued training as she didn't get the chance to learn basics early on. No cats or chickens for this girl.
