Over the last 19 years, we have offered a safe place for unwanted hunting dogs to get the second chance they deserve. Meet Chief! Chief is 1 1/2 year old, bluetick coonhound and plott hound mix who weighs about 50 pounds. He is shy but is quickly learning all the things good house dogs should know! He's a rather submissive soul who is great with other dogs and thrives on kindness and quiet! From now until New Year's, you can give the gift of love to a homeless dog who needs you for no monetary cost. You will be asked to pay for them with love, lots of cookies, kisses, and the commitment of providing them with a forever home for the holidays and for the rest of their lives! AugustaDog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
