About SNOOP

Adoption Fee: $350
Maltese / Shih Tzu
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

SNOOP is an 11-year-old, 12.8 pound Maltese Shih Tzu mix with a toothy grin! He was surrendered because his owner can't take care of him anymore. SNOOP is a calm boy who has been incredibly sweet and well-behaved in his foster home. He enjoys being around people and is affectionate once he gets to know you. He isn't skittish, but he needed a few days to settle in to his foster home and understand that he was safe. After about five days, he quietly hopped on the couch and sat beside his foster mom, though he still prefers to curl up on his own dog bed. Once he feels confident with you, he is a loyal, easy companion who simply wants to be near his person. SNOOP gets along with other dogs, but he seems more comfortable with calm, older dogs or as the only dog. He lived as an only dog for many years and has occasionally had disagreements with a young, high-energy foster over treats and dog beds. He eats with enthusiasm, so he is fed separately to avoid conflict. His previous owner said he is good with children, but we have not personally had him around kids to know. To be safe, we would prefer home with older kids if there are any in the family. He has not been around cats in his foster home. SNOOP is housebroken and has not had a single accident in the house. He is not a high-energy dog, but he enjoys going outside and wandering around the yard. He doesn't use the doggy door - he prefers to have the door opened and likes his person to step outside with him. A fenced yard would be wonderful for him, because he enjoys walking around and exploring when the weather is nice. He rides calmly in the car. At night, SNOOP sleeps through the night on a dog bed in the bedroom. He would love a quiet home with a soft bed for naps and someone who will love him the way he deserves. SNOOP is up to date on shots, neutered, had a dental, is heartworm negative, had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
