About Mossy

Adoption Fee: $400
Mastiff / Boxer
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Mossy is a one-year-old Mastiff mix with the heart of a golden retriever and the power of a large working breed. He has grown into an affectionate, goofy, people-loving dog who wants to be part of whatever you're doing. He's fully potty trained, up to date on vaccines, and crate trained. He knows sit, stay, come, wait, slow down, and okay, and he learns new cues quickly. Mossy has a very puppy-like spirit. curious, enthusiastic, and incredibly cuddly. He adores playing ball, adventures, chewing bones on the couch while you watch a show, and exploring new places. His energy level is moderate-to-high simply because he's young, but he settles beautifully after exercise. When I worked in the office full time, his ideal routine was a midday dog-walker plus two 30-minute walks a day, with weekend adventures. He would thrive with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and wants a companion to bring along. He does well with dogs when introduced slowly and respectfully-his size and the fact that he isn't neutered yet can make some dogs reactive. He loves people and children, though because of his size and enthusiasm, children over 10 are safest. He would do well in a home with boundary-setting cats, equally energetic dogs that enjoy proper introductions, or a household without other animals. He is also the perfect dog for a single woman who wants a 'big, scary-looking dog' who is actually a complete sweetheart. Mossy travels well, is great in the car, LOVES snow and has done beautifully on camping trips. He wouldn't be ideal for a bird farm setting due to mastiff prey drive, but in nearly every other context he's a loyal, loving, joyful dog. Rehoming him breaks my heart. I'm young- my health/life circumstances have changed & limit the stability and time he deserves. He will thrive most with someone a bit more established-someone who can offer consistency, energy, and long-term stability. What Comes With Him %BD' his heavy-duty cast iron crate %BD' his food bowls %BD' his harness %BD' his collection of toys and balls (you will need new ones-he goes through them with enthusiasm) %BD' his large kibble storage container (about 35 gallons) %BD' his blanket %BD' his vet records (minimal because he's young, but fully up to date) Mossy is in excellent health and has been well cared for. He is a big dog, so keep in mind that he comes with large-dog expenses: XL toys, higher food costs, and durable gear. He is not the expense of a giant English Mastiff or horse-he's just hitting the 100-pound mark-but he's certainly not a Chihuahua budget-wise. He's a strong, loving companion who deserves someone ready to invest in his big heart and big presence.
