Baby is a very sweet and gentle cat. She's shy at first, but once she warms up to you, she loves to cuddle. Baby has spent most of her life with my grandmother, so she's used to a calm, slower-paced home. Before my grandmother passed, Baby also lived happily with another cat and had no trouble getting along. When the whole family visits-including three great-grandchildren under the age of three-Baby simply retreats to another room and stays in her safe space. After about 25 minutes, once the kids have settled down, she'll come out and ask for gentle pets. Her favorite spots are on my grandmother's lap or on her bed, ideally curled up on a soft blanket. Sadly, my grandmother passed away recently, and now Baby needs a new home. Our family has a mix of allergies and non-cat-friendly dogs, so we're unable to give her the safe, loving environment she deserves. Baby is calm and easygoing, but she does enjoy playtime when she finds a good box-cardboard boxes are her favorite! For the past six years, Baby lived in an apartment in a senior living facility, so she's accustomed to a quiet, slower pace. Occasionally, my grandmother would have friends over for a card game, and Baby would stroll around happily. She would thrive in a peaceful home with a gentle transition to help her adjust. Baby has lived in both a house and an apartment and enjoyed both. She's entirely an indoor cat but loves watching birds through patio doors. She previously lived with another cat without any issues, but she's never been introduced to dogs. Baby has had limited exposure to small children during family visits (ages 9 months, 2.5 years, and 4.5 years). When the older kids are active, she hides, but once things calm down, she comes out for gentle pets from adults. She's skittish around fast-moving children but never aggressive-no hissing or biting, just quietly slipping away.
