About Atlas

Hello! My name is Atlas, and I'm a 5-year-old shepherd mix. My owner of 4 years lost his job, housing, and car, and I need a new home. I'm a very affectionate boy after I warm up to you. I'll even want to snuggle on your lap, even though I'm too big! I am potty trained, fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I love meeting new dogs if we walk together first, and I love older kids (maybe 10+?). I can't be around cats. I love car rides and walks and short hikes of 1-2 miles--my legs are weaker in the back due to being kept in a crate before being rescued. Sticks are my favorite thing ever! I'm very mellow and sleep a lot, like a cat. I know sit, stay, wait, shake, and leave it. I eat beef and vegetable food, wet or dry. I CAN'T be left in a crate because I was left in one permanently and abused before being rescued. I don't have any accidents in the house if you work 8 hours/day, but I'd be happy to stay in your yard if you have shade in the summer and a doghouse in the winter.
