About MONTY

Monty's owner has recently given birth and shortly after that, Monty's eyesight started to rapidly decline. She's tried hard to provide him with the same quality of life he's had, but with a newborn, she's having a difficult time, and she feels Monty will be better off with a new home. She's reached out to shelters and other rescues, but has not yet had any luck. Name: Monty Age: 10 years Breed: Shih Tzu (12 pounds) Sex: Male (neutered per owner) Location: Los Angeles County, CA Vet Info: Monty is neutered and heartworm negative per his owner. He is not current with vaccines. Dog Info: Monty is an indoor dog with run of the house. He is housebroken and leash trained. He's a friendly fellow and his owner tells us he is good with people of all ages, and both male and female dogs. He is not possessive of toys, treats, or food. Monty has never bitten or snapped, but he can get upset with other dogs who are persistently in his face or too rough when trying to play. Monty's owner feels he is completely blind, but is unsure of the cause. She believes it might be due to his age. She also gave us more details about how he might adjust to a new situation: 'I think its a bit of a struggle, I have a feeling hes not aware he is blind and is unsure of whats happening sometimes. He still runs face first at full speed into a lot of things in my home and they haven't been moved. It seems he doesn't remember where things used to be.' She wants us to know what a sweet boy he is! 'Monty is such a carefree fun-loving spirit, he is so friendly and loves people. He is so accepting and calm and loves naps and just being cuddled and talked to.
