This is Chief Buck|- he is a 7 mo. old Hound/Pit/Beagle mix (that's a giant guess by the vet). He was found wandering along the road outside of Chiefland, FL (hence the first part of his name); we thought he was a deer (hence the second part, lol). He weighs 40 lbs and probably needs to gain 5-10 lbs to be at a healthy weight. He has been to the vet for a routine check and some tests. He had a non-transmittable (to humans or pets) bacterial thing from ticks, for which he has a 28-day supply of antibiotics (which he happily gulps down with a spoonful of peanut butter). He was given a dose of Simperica Trio and is tick-free now (didn't have any fleas). He will need to be neutered and receive his vaccines. He is the sweetest boy on the planet ٩- he loves to lean on you, sit on you, jump on you (working on that), and should be fairly easy to train. He has not had any accidents inside and has taken well to the morning/evening feeding routine. He is a bit of a chewer but mostly only plastic things (although he does like to carry shoes around). He doesn't bark; he does whine - but even that he doesn't do for long. Will probably do well with crating but doesn't seem to get into much trouble left to his own devices. He has puppy energy and can be silly and bouncy. He likes other dogs but he wants to play and will hop on them to start a chase - would do well either as an only dog or with a dog who doesn't mind a little crazy in their life. We would love nothing more than to keep him, but we have a full house already and our older dog is not a fan of puppy energy. He is great with kids and cats too!
