Violet's Story Hi, I'm Violet! I'm a young lady who is just turning 1 year old. I weigh 39lbs. When I first came to the shelter, I was so shy and timid. I was very fearful in the loud environment and a nice lady offered to foster me! At her home, it only took me a few days to come out of my shell! Even though I started out afraid of her dogs and her, within about 3 days, I am enjoying playing with my foster dog friends, and I love to give my foster human mom hugs. She has noticed that I don't have a strong prey drive - I sit and watch passing turkeys for instance. I am crate trained, and I enjoy having a crate that I can go to as my safe space. Men make me very nervous and I am slower to warm up to them. I'm not aggressive - just fearful and avoidant of men. I came from a home with dozens of dogs, so I'm used to pack living - just shy at first. I'd love to find a home who understands that I am a young girl with so much potential, while also acknowledging that I had a hard childhood and it will take some time to build my confidence in new situations (or with men, for instance). There's no doubt that I'm smart, gentle, and have a very good temperament - I'm just looking for a guiding hand to help us grow, together! I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am $175 to bring home! If you are interested, please call the shelter at (541) 474-5458. You can view more adoptable pets at www.jocoshelter.com/adoptions . Walk-ins are welcome, however we highly recommend calling first to check on availability and location (some animals may be offsite or unavailable). Appointments are recommended to reduce wait times, especially for dogs. Thank you!
