About Luna

Luna is a beautiful 6-year-old Dogo Argentino who needs a new home after a change in her family's living situation. She's a loving and loyal companion who bonds quickly and wants to be near her people. She weighs about 80 pounds and is gentle with kids, good with cats, and can do well with dogs with slow introductions and time to settle in. New adults also need to be introduced since she's protective at first, but once she knows someone, she's warm and silly. Luna is fully house trained and not destructive, though she does bark when she gets excited. She has some separation anxiety, so she'll do best with someone who's home often and can provide a steady routine. She loves long walks and can sometimes pass other dogs on walks without issue, though other days she needs space. Her owner has been working on this with treats and gradual exposure. She enjoys running and playing, but tires quickly and always returns to sniffing everything around her. Luna has no known medical issues. She's spayed and up to date on all shots. She does have a mild chicken allergy, so chicken-free food and treats are best. Luna is sweet, funny, and full of quirks. She waits for a little encouragement before hopping on the bed and barrels down stairs without worrying who's in the way. If you say 'get him Luna,' she'll chase her favorite person with pure joy. She loves squeaky toys, loses interest in most others, and thinks strawberries, bananas, peanut butter, and cheese are the best treats in the world. Luna is located in Garfield, NJ, and is ready for someone who can give her attention, patience, and a secure, loving home. This dog is being featured to help the owner find a loving home for them.
