Please help us find a responsible, loving and forever home, or foster and rescue to save this young, handsome boy the Downey shelter has estimated to be only 1 year old and he weighs 50 lbs and is perfect size. The shelter named him Fawkesy Shazam after he was brought in as a 'stray'. The shelter describes him as 'a sweet, social, and wiggly boy who greeted his handler with soft eyes, a loose tail wag, and lots of love. He leashed easily and happily explored the yard, greeting other dogs politely and joining in gentle chase games ��%90%BE���S. He offered cute play bows, enjoyed getting pets, and even climbed into handlers' laps for kisses! Throughout his assessment, he stayed relaxed, friendly, and eager to connect. With a medium energy level and good dog manners, Fawkesy Shazam is ready to shine in a loving home ���݉s�' Shelter behavior indicates, 'Fawkesy Shazam greeted the handler nicely and solicited petting through the barrier. Fawkesy was easily leashed and removed from the kennel and was taken to the catch pen. He was collared and leashed without issue and greeted the dogs at the barrier nicely and was allowed into the yard. Fawkesy displayed a relaxed body, open mouth pant, natural ear set, relaxed tail wag, and soft eyes. He exchanged greetings nicely then moved on and explored the yard. Fawkesy continued to socialize as he explored the yard and appeared interested in the playful dogs. Fawkesy eventually joined in and primarily participated in play chase and appeared to enjoy being chased. He was tolerant of the dogs playfully jumping on him but did not appear interested in playful wrestling. Fawkesy spent time with the handlers sitting with them and observing the yard or soliciting petting from them. Fawkesy often greeted dogs at the barrier and as they entered the yard and also offered play bows. If the dogs weren't interested Fawkesy returned to the handlers and sought further engagement. At times Fawkesy climbed the handlers' chairs to lick their face and was easy to steer and remove from the chair. Fawkesy maintained a social and playful demeanor with a gentle/dainty play style.' They further noted, 'Fawkesy Shazam was in the play yard prior to the assessment and was given time to decompress. Fawkesy displayed a relaxed body, open mouth pant, natural ear set, loose tail wag, and soft eyes. Fawkesy approached the handler and jumped on them affectionately leaning into them for petting with a loose wiggly demeanor. The handler was able to examine Fawkesy's ears, mouth, abdomen, back, lower extremities, and tail easily. Fawkesy maintained a loosed wiggly demeanor throughout the assessment and continued to solicit petting afterward. Fawkesy could benefit from basic manners training. Fawkesy is ok for public adoption medium energy level large dogs ok.' We have a complete set of medical and behavior notes upon request, no medical issues were noted at the time. He was however a little tense at his initial exam, which is understandable.
