About MAZY

MAZY is a 1.5 year old, 7.2 pound Shih Tzu Poodle mix surrendered because her owner didn't have enough time for her. She'll make a wonderful addition to a home that enjoys a cuddly lap dog with a playful side. MAZY is a sweet, affectionate little girl who warms up quickly once she feels safe. After just a couple of days, she became a total lovebug...following her foster everywhere, curling up in laps, giving the occasional kiss, and soaking up belly rubs. She can be a little unsure about being picked up, and prefers you wait until she's ready. MAZY gets along well with other small dogs and has come out of her shell enough to play and chase her foster sibling. She does not enjoy dogs that get in her face or chase her, so a calmer dog companion, or even being the only dog with lots of love and attention, would be perfectly fine. We believe she will do well with respectful kids, likely around 10+ due to her initially timid nature. Cats are an unknown. MAZY is doing well with her potty routine. She goes outside when taken out regularly and will usually use pee pads indoors if needed. She doesn't use the dog door yet. She does still have an occasional accident but she is still learning the routine in her foster home. She responds well to positive reinforcement. She needs a bit more leash training and enjoys running around in the fenced yard. At night, MAZY sleeps happily on the bed with her people. She can be vocal and barks at unknown noises although that is improving as she adjusts to her foster home. She's not the best fit for an apartment though. MAZY is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola).
