About Ollie

Hello Everyone, Please meet Ollie. He's a 15-year-old Persian boy whose elderly owner (and my apartment neighbor) recently passed away. Long story short, the owner was a hoarder and Ollie was living in very disagreeable conditions. He was covered in thick matted fur when I found him and was in need of immediate help. After a full lion's-clip grooming and a veterinary check-up, Ollie is doing much better. He's put on weight, his spirits have noticeably rebounded, and after a short course of antibiotics he was given a clean bill of health. He's a very social boy-quite talkative, and he purrs loudly the moment he settles onto your lap on the couch. He's also extremely reliable with the litter box. No messes. Why I'm posting this: I live in a small studio in NYC, work fully in-office, attend graduate school 2-3 nights a week, and frequently visit my parents on weekends (not in NYC). After a three-month trial period, I don't feel capable of giving Ollie the time and attention he deserves. I'm simply not home enough, and unfortunately that won't change anytime soon due to professional and academic obligations. After everything Ollie went through in his previous situation, he deserves a dignified and comfortable retirement with someone who can give him consistent companionship. I'm in no big rush to give him away. I just want Ollie to go to the best possible home for his golden years. Please note that Persians require more grooming than most breeds, but nothing excessive.
