About Sadie

These beautiful speckles belong to Sadie, an 8 years old Australian Cattle Dog who weighs 30 pounds. Sadie knows a lot: Sit, Stay, Down, Come, and Leave It. She also will Shake and High Five when asked. She is house trained. She clearly communicates when she needs to go outside for a bathroom break. Sadie gets excited meeting new people and barks to be sure to get their attention. Once she calms down, she often puts her head down and sticks her rear end up in the air and loves being scratched. Sadie is in a home with toddlers and doesn't like the busyness of kids. She is searching for an adult only home. Sadie lives politely with another medium sized dog. She would also be fine as an only dog. She is typically very good with and enjoys playing, running, and being active with certain dogs, especially other herding breeds. However, there are some dogs she will bark at, and others she will simply ignore. So she will need to meet any dog in her potential new home to be sure it's a fit. As for birds and squirrels, she likes to chase and bark. Sadie enjoys fetching, but isn't a fanatic. She particularly enjoys tug-of-war, and she loves chewing on sticks and various toys in the yard or house. Sadie is a truly affectionate and incredibly intelligent dog. While she has the energy for outdoors activities you would want, like hiking, she is calm indoors. She loves to sleep on the couch, snuggle under blankets, and enjoys lounging in the sunlight outside. She likes to be doing what her people are doing and is very affectionate. Sadie is definitely best friend material. Sadie is spayed and current on vaccinations. She is located in Bakersfield, CA. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
