About JAX

*LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY* JAX is a 3.5 month old, 9.6 pound Maltese Poodle mix who was surrendered to us because he was a bit too much puppy for his owners. He will be a fun companion for someone who can devote a lot of time and attention to him, and he would also thrive in a home with other playful pups. He's young, full of joy, and ready to be loved! JAX is such a sweet little guy! He's cute, loving, and friendly with everyone he meets. He enjoys a few cuddles but is much more interested in playing with the other dogs. His tail is always wagging, and his soft coat and happy personality make him instantly lovable to anyone who visits. JAX gets along wonderfully with all the dogs in his foster home. He plays well with everyone and will be happiest in a home with a young dog to grow up with. He's so active and playful! He loves shaking his plush toys and then chasing them as they fly across the room. Because he's gentle and never nips, he should do great with kids. We have not had him around cats but he's a puppy and can learn how to behave with them. JAX is not yet housebroken, but he is learning. His foster takes him outside regularly and he will potty in the yard as long as someone stays with him. He sometimes comes back in and has an accident, but they're working on it. He's also just starting to learn the dog door. He hasn't been on a leash yet, but his foster plans to begin leash training this week. At this time we would prefer him to have a home with a fenced yard. At night, JAX sleeps in the big bed with his foster and has already mastered the stairs to get up and down. JAX has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter will be scheduled with one of our vets soon and is covered by the rescue. He is local adoption only which is within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
