Courtesy Posting: CARSON/GARDENA, CA- LOS ANGELES COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL- ID #A5056417- ROSCO- A SWEET, SUPER SENIOR IN NEED OF A LOVING HOME OR FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP- SHELTER IS FULL AND HE WILL NOT HAVE LONG Dear Rosco has wonderful behavior notes, but was sadly surrendered by his owners to a very full, high kill shelter 'due to not having time to care for the dog'. They reported Rosco as a 13 year old cattle dog and chow mix, although he looks more like a cattle dog to us. We do not know what he really is other than being very deserving of a loving home in his golden years. Obviously, the shelter is no place for a senior, they are already full, and poor Rosco will be at risk for euthanasia soon due to space. His shelter behavior notes state, 'Loose body language on approach, easy to leash and walk out without issue. Brought to the side yard for handling. Able to perform handling 'exam' without issue. Enjoyed chest scratching. Able to collar and leash without incident. Initially explored the yard, showed interest in the other dog and engaged in some play. Was appropriate when the other dog was too playful for him. Returned to kennel without issue. Ok for public, Calm Dogs Recommended'. He weighs 75 lbs, is said to be a little overweight, but has no glaring medical issues noted. We can provide you with a copy of all behavior and medical notes. Rosco did well at his exam. We also have several nice videos of Rosco enjoying pets, scratches and attention, as well as showing his gentle demeanor.
