About WILLOW

WILLOW is a 2 year old, 24.5 pound beautiful bouncy Boston Terrier surrendered to us because her owner is ill and unable to care for her. She is sweet and outgoing but needs a little time to warm up in a new home and to new situations. WILLOW was skittish when she fist came to us and a little scared of different noises or people approaching her. She builds trust slowly but once she knows you she is the sweetest girl who loves to give kisses and burrow under the covers in bed next to you at night. She gives great hugs, loves tummy rubs, and likes to nap next to you with her head on your lap. She has plenty of butt wiggles, happy jumps and zoomies for her person when they come home and likes to go out to potty right away. She is very observant and her ears are always up; she takes in everything, no matter where she goes. She is always listening and watching everyone with a mix of curiosity and a little hesitation. WILLOW is good with other dogs but she is an alpha and likes to let everyone know she's in charge. She plays hard, wrestling, romping and running, so a dog closer to her size and energy level will be best. A smaller or senior dog is not her best match. She would be fine as an only dog but not if she is going to be spending hours alone. We do not know how she would be with kids or cats. WILLOW is working on potty training and doing well with just a few accidents. She is improving and knows how to use a doggy door. She generally does well on a leash but needs a little more practice. A fenced yard is preferred but with plenty of exercise and a good potty schedule she might be ok without one. WILLOW has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayes, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
