About Scruffy

Meet Scruffy. Scruffy is one of five bottle-fed kittens who were lovingly raised by a dedicated staff member. She is almost identical in appearance to her sister, Cinnamon, but without the dusting of light brown color. However, this young lady is her own personality. She is inquisitive and affectionate. She would make a wonderful addition to your family! Scruffy is tiny but mighty, and her purr can be heard across the room as she cuddles in a kitten pile with her family or in a human's arms. Her siblings are Xavier, Onyx, Cinnamon, and Mika. All will be available soon in our foster-to-adopt program where we can allow small kittens to be fostered until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered, and then adopted out. Fosters must live close enough to bring them back for routine vaccines and for their final surgery. Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don't receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
