About Nelson

Nelson is a 10 years old male Golden Retriever/Mix who weighs 52 pounds. Nelson is a senior gentleman with a heart full of love and a spirit that still shines bright. This sweet boy has mastered the art of companionship, he's friendly and always ready to make new friends. Don't be fooled by his age, this boy still has a lot of energy! He's exuberant and playful - and gets very excited when meeting new people. In his kennel, you'll often find Nelson curled up with his favorite blanket, softly 'nursing' it like a puppy. It's his little way of finding comfort while he waits for the warmth of a forever home. Nelson enjoys walks, games, and being part of daily life. He can be very high spirited while getting leashed for his walk. He recently had a playdate with another shelter pup and it went well, indicating he may do well with another dog. What he wants most, though, is a cozy home with a soft carpet for his paws, a comfy chair to share with you, and a warm bed to dream in each night. Nelson's ideal person or family will give him the love and comfort every senior dog deserves. In return, he'll give you endless affection, quiet companionship, and a heart full of gratitude.
