About Dana

Dana is a beautiful, silly, and loyal shepherd looking for her forever home. You will have to teach her to trust the world and work to integrate her with your dog if you have one, but isn't that the joy and reward of adopting a shepherd? She is very smart and will do well with a confident breed experienced owner. - Smart and trainable. Very treat motivated - Playful and energetic. Enjoys playing fetch with her balls and squeaky toys, and chewing on bones - Affectionate and very cuddly. Likes to lay across your lap - Enjoys watching TV with her humans. Very attentive! - She bonds quickly with her person but still can be nervous in public and meeting new people - she will need some patience and understanding while she works through her fears. Breed or similar breed experience preferred - Potty trained and crate trained. Will sleep in crate overnight and when you're gone, and likes to treat her open crate as a den - Seems to have a dominant personality towards other dogs. Currently would need to be with a submissive dog and/or an adopter experienced with slow introductions and very controlled & supervised interactions. She does well on pack walks with 80lb male foster dog siblings and limited time together, but will try to assert her dominance and will respond if challenged. It may require some time and effort to integrate her with another dog, or maybe your dog is her perfect match for how she is today! - No cats - Has done fine with 4ft fence - So helpful with house chores, and likes to be in the know!
