About Luca

Meet Luca! He is a very special boy with beauty to match. He was saved from a neglectful environment by cat lovers. However, being cat lovers�'�| we had cats already. We have tried every integration tactic possible, it has been too long now to hold out hope as when we spoke to professionals they said this was rare but that it can happen with a cat society that is already formed. The couple of cats we already have, rejected Luca from the cat society. They aim to push him completely out. He has been injured and treated twice, we try our best to avoid issues but it's become stressful for everyone, especially little Luca. He is healthy as can be but it is believed he was the miracle runt, therefore he is smaller than the other cats even as an adult cat. He is around only 3 years old, he doesn't meow, he trills and chirps as communication. He cannot speak cat well and he is submissive to the point of constantly running away. We were essentially told there was nothing we could do about them rejecting the sweet boy, simply that he was acting like prey and so they were treating him like prey. It breaks our hearts to watch him tiptoe around, scared to move too fast in fear of inciting an attack. We believe he would get along better with a dog before he got along with other cats. We don't believe it's impossible for him to be with other cats but it would have to be one other cat who is not dominant/aggressive in nature. Perhaps he would make the perfect friend to a kitten? Or a puppy? Or a dog who is gentle? We know he is a good boy, that he just needs time and patience and understand that he is stressed out currently. He doesn't require anything special aside from a covered litter box, crinkle balls, and the understanding that he doesn't like being picked up quickly/fast. He has endless potential to be someone's beautiful cat, he doesn't even climb on counter tops.
