Mom was a boxer. Dad unknown but most people who see him think belgian malinois. Very sweet, loving dog (including with kids and a baby). However, he has separation anxiety and needs lots of love and attention. Unfortunately, we are in a rental home and his separation anxiety seems to be getting worse to the point he is breaking out of his crate. He can be left out- just make sure to lock all doors and windows as he is an escape artist (unfortunately right now we have a window that won't lock which is why we are crating).Typical crates won't do. We have a steel one and he has still managed to figure out the latches on that. I can even give that to you as they are expensive, and maybe you can come up with a solution. He is mostly house trained if left out- but will have occassional accidents if left too long. He won't damage items (shoes, etc) but will get into food. Just needs love and someone who is home more than we are, so time alone is minimal. When on walks, he needs to be on a harness - not a collar around his neck - as we've been told he has a narrow throat and he will choke with normal collar/leashes. He is also afraid of loud noises.
