About BROWNIE

BROWNIE is a 12-year-old, 15-pound Doxipoo surrendered because his owner was unable to care for him. He's a sweet senior looking for a quiet home with someone who will give him lots of love! BROWNIE is a sweetheart who settled into his foster home right away. He loves being close to his people, follows you around, and enjoys gentle petting and attention. He greets visitors happily once he knows they're welcome, though he'll give a good bark to let you know someone has arrived. BROWNIE gets along well with his foster fur sibling. They nap near each other, go outside together, and coexist peacefully. He'd do well as an only dog or with a calm companion. While he hasn't been around children or cats, his gentle nature suggests he would likely be fine with calm older kids and may be okay with cats. BROWNIE is mostly potty trained and will go to the door when he needs out. He knows basic commands and walks fine on a leash, though he hasn't needed many leash outings. He also recently discovered toys and even played fetch for the first time! At night BROWNIE prefers a cozy dog bed. When asked to do something he doesn't love, he may make a low 'grumble,' but it's not aggressive, just one of his funny little habits. BROWNIE has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He has a heart murmur but no meds are required at this time. He also has age-related hearing loss, and when he had his dental he lost all of his teeth. Because he has no teeth, the tip of his tongue adorably sticks out, only adding to his cuteness! *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
