Hunter is a very good dog. He always wants to be around us. He will not go outside for long by himself. Our cat bullies him but they play together. He is very cunning and loves to be pet. Hunter is very smart. We had to put a child lock on our refrigerator because he figured out how to open the door. The problem we have is he is very food oriented and protective over anything related to food. If I am pulling out the garbage, his hair will stand up and growl at me. He has gotten much worse. Recently, he was licking some turkey juice off the stove. My mother simply told him to get down. He lunged at her and bit her arm. We have little kids around here every week. We cannot afford to have one bitten by accident. He is a great dog except for this. He loves being outside by the fire with us and is a good protector. He recently scooted a couple of coyotes away from us that had come into the yard. We love him, but we just cannot afford to have an accident of a little one getting bitten.
