URGENT - POPPY IS OUT OF TIME. If she is not out of the shelter by Tuesday, December 9th at 4 PM, she will be euthanized. A282914 Poppy is a 5-year-old, 60-pound spayed German Shepherd mix who came into the shelter in June wearing a service-dog vest. She was found roaming alone as a stray, and no one ever came looking for her. She has been waiting ever since, confused and heartbroken. Poppy is friendly with staff and volunteers and can do well with other dogs with slow, calm introductions. But the shelter is destroying her. After just a few weeks, the constant noise, confinement, and stress began to take a toll. Poppy started spinning, pacing, and barking out of sheer anxiety. What began as mild stress has now become unbearable for her. Staff struggle to remove and return her to her kennel because she is so overwhelmed. Poppy once enjoyed playgroup and had fun learning to play with other dogs, but now the barking and chaos of the kennel have pushed her into a constant state of fear. She cannot relax, cannot enjoy walks, and cannot cope any longer. Poppy needs a home out of the shelter. She is a loving, friendly dog who is suffering deeply behind those kennel doors. She needs a quiet, patient home where she can decompress, heal, and slowly be introduced to other dogs-or she can be the only dog in the home. Poppy has so much life left to live, but the shelter environment is breaking her faster than anyone can help. If she does not leave the shelter by Dec 9th at 4 PM, she will not survive. Please do not let this be the end of her story. Poppy is available for foster, adoption, or rescue. To save her, please contact [email protected] or call 520-509-3555. You can also go directly to PCACC at 1150 S. Eleven Mile Corner Rd, Casa Grande, AZ. Hours: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Poppy is running out of time. She needs someone to see her, choose her, and save her life.
