About Kolby

Meet Kolby - your perfect adventure and snuggle partner. If you've been searching for a best friend who can keep up on the trails and curl up beside you at the end of the day, Kolby is your guy. Black dogs like Kolby are so often overlooked, even in rescue, and passed by for no reason at all, but this boy is truly something special. At 8 years old, he has the perfect balance of energy and calm. He still has plenty of pep in his step for walks and hikes, while also being incredibly gentle, affectionate, and easygoing. Kolby leans his whole body into you just to feel close, and once you look into his soft, kind eyes, it's easy to see why everyone falls in love with him. He walks politely on leash, takes treats gently, and rides beautifully in the car. He is not reactive to other dogs, though a proper meet-and-greet is required if you have another pup. Kolby is potty trained and happiest when he's near his people, often curling up as if he's a lap dog. Because of being left behind in the past, he would do best in a home where someone is around often, as he just wants to feel safe, loved, and part of a family again. He is not a fan of being crated and would much rather be by your side. Kolby is truly a hidden gem, and once you meet him, you'll wonder how he hasn't already been chosen.
