AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We are currently accepting adoption applications for Jessica. Jessica is a Wire-Haired Terrier breed who is veterinary age-estimated to be around 3 years of age. Pulled from a high-kill shelter in Oklahoma, one which only has a three day hold policy due to their high intake of animals, Foster Momma Felicia makes the rounds on a regular basis, pulling and saving all that she is able. Jessica does very well with all other dogs. She is quiet and loves a lap to cuddle into. She is approximately 10-13#. She is working on potty training and is doing extremely well. Drastic changes in lifestyle and routine can upset the training process and we ask that a solid routine is established. We are looking for a family who is knowledgeable with the Terrier breed. Jessica is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Jessica acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Jessica to acclimate to the changes in her life. Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application.
