AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Freya is scheduled for a spay procedure the first week of January 2026. She is available for Foster to Adopt until then. We are currently accepting adoption applications for Freya. Freya is 6 years of age. Her DOB is 09.05.2019. Freya is a recent breeder-release. She does well with other dogs, is indifferent to cats and is a quiet, gentle lady. Freya is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Freya acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Freya to acclimate to the changes in her life. Freya does really well with keeping her night time crate clean and dry, however, changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. A solid routine, patience and compassion are required for all new adoptees. Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application.
