About Sandy

Meet Sandy, a sweet and spirited 13-year-old pitbull mix who has been a beloved part of our family for the past twelve years. Sandy originally came to California after being rescued from New Orleans during Hurricane Sandy, and she was adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Shelter. She's had a long, love-filled life with us, and now she needs a new home because our mom is moving into assisted living. My mom is heartbroken about this, but has limited mobility and will be unable to care for her in assisted living. Despite her age, Sandy is still playful and full of personality. She is easy going, and can be alone in the comfort of home because she is at the age where naps and rest are part of her lifestyle. She absolutely LOVES people and is happiest when she's near someone who enjoys her friendly, affectionate nature. She gets along wonderfully with both cats and dogs, making her a great fit for many households. Sandy is on a special diet and takes one pill a day to help manage a kidney condition, but she handles her routine easily and remains bright, happy, and active. Sandy would thrive in a home that can offer: Companionship and affection A gentle daily routine-she eats in the morning and at night Love, patience, and a cozy warm place to relax We are rehoming Sandy purely due to changes my mom's care needs, and our deepest wish is to place her with someone who will cherish her golden years as much as we have.
