URGENT: TEMP FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED BY 11/29 Foster dad is having surgery and can no longer keep him - this sweet boy will have nowhere to go. Meet Sir Griffin a 45 lb Golden Retriever mix with a heart of pure gold.He was pulled from an overcrowded southern shelter on the very day he was set to be euthanized. He had been found wandering the streets in rough shape, confused, scared, and completely alone. But Griffin's luck turned when a wonderful foster dad opened his home to him. For the past 8 weeks, Griffin has blossomed with love, routine, and safety - and his foster dad adores him. But now, heartbreakingly, his foster dad is facing surgery and a long hospitalization, and Griffin must leave by 11/29. He has no backup plan. He's about to lose the only home he's ever felt safe in. We are desperate to find him a place to land - even temporarily. Who is Griffin? Griffin is estimated to be between 2-4 years old, recently groomed, and the groomer said he was 'such a good boy.' He wants nothing more than to be close to his person, give love, receive love, and live life happily. Here's what his foster dad says: 'Griffin is a GREAT dog who lives to please his person. He's affectionate, goofy, loves cuddles, and absolutely lives for playtime - zoomies, fetch, tug-of-war, walks, you name it. He gets so happy when someone comes over; he just wants attention and love.' He's also super smart and food-motivated, which makes training incredibly easy. He already knows:no, sit, paw, wait, stay, lay down, and 'take it nice' for treats. He sleeps on his dog bed when told, is fully house-trained, and alerts when he needs to go out. And when left home alone? He just curls up by the door and waits patiently for his foster dad to come back. His ideal home:A fenced yard where he can run, zoom, and play fetch Fenced in yard Someone patient who will continue his good training Another playful dog (or two!) would be wonderful for him Older kids recommended due to possible herding mix Tons of love, routine, and reassurance Please - Griffin deserves to stay safe and loved. This boy has been failed too many times in his short life. We cannot let him lose his home again while his foster dad goes through surgery. He only needs a temporary foster OR a forever home.
