URGENT!!! AT RISK FOR SURRENDER! DUBLIN, OHIO . (willing to drive up to 3 HRS ). 7 MONTH OLD MALE GSD/MIX (DOB:EST 4/11/25 ). His name is 'DUKE '. Background: Current Shepard Parent rescued Duke about a week ago from the shelter. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. UNKNOWN with kids. Good with dogs. UNKNOWN with cats. House trained (WORKING PROGRESS). NOT Crate trained. Is displaying severe Trauma Response to the crate. Will destroy whatever is in the crate and try, to the point of possibly hurting himself, to get out. Any known medical issues?: NO. SEVERE SEPARATION ANXIETY. POSSIBLE ABUSE HISTORY. TRAUMA RESPONSE TO CRATE. ERY THIN. ENERGY LEVEL: LOW. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: AVERAGE. Weighs 35 lbs. Currently on PURINA PRO PLAN food. Good with car rides?: YES. Socialized with: *other dogs: YES. *people?: YES. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!):YES . Loves: being near his person - sleeping in bed with his person - going on walks - chilling on the couch - playing with other dogs - chew toys- chew bones - giving hugs by wrapping his paws around your waist. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: YES. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH):FAIR, still learning his name . *Good on a Leash?:YES . *Lovable?: VERY. *Eager and fast learner?: YES. Bite History?: NO NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'loves his person very much, relaxed / lazy, very treat motivated, is for the most part potty trained- good on walks, hardly barks. Very relaxed with grooming and will let you clean his nose, ears, paws. Sleeps in bed with me overnight and doesn't get up. Re Homing because�'�|: the Current Shepherd Parent rescued him about a week ago from the shelter not knowing of his severe Separation Anxiety. She does have a full-time job and is not able to be home with Duke as to what he needs. Duke is not thriving the way that he should be. The Current Shepherd Parent loves Duke and does not want to return him to the shelter. She wants to see him go to an amazing home with someone that he truly needs to thrive and be happy. Duke does not have desire to play with toys or balls. That is very sad to me and tells me a lot. It tells me that Duke was for sure abused and made to stay in his crate probably his whole existence until he was put into the shelter. Duke will come out of this with the right person and with lots of TLC and will be the bestest boy that he can possibly be. He will be an amazing companion for the right person. Will thrive best�'�|?: in a loving home with someone very loving and home all the time. Duke needs someone who is always home and will not crate him. Someone who will work with him to be able to Free Roam the home in the rare instances that you do have to leave.
