Shaw is a beautiful Tibetan Mastiff - perhaps with a touch of St. Bernard - hence his name - it was either Shaw or Hopkins and he reminds us far more of the playwright than the pugilist. Shaw was recently adopted from a Southern California shelter as of 11/23/25. At the moment, the boy is getting over kennel cough. Kill shelters are rough. He is sweet, intelligent, fluffy, and has a great nose - if a Tibetan Mastiff could be Irish - he would look like Shaw. We pulled him from the shelter, 1) because they euthanize dogs for space, 2) because we wanted him neutered so he would not fall into the clutches of some scummy breeder - or their buyers, 3) because we want him to go to a great forever home, 4) because we've rescued Tibetans since the 90s. We now have too many rescue dogs - including two other rescues in need of a home. Shaw is available to a loving, forever home. But only one that understands dogs are not disposable. Worst case, he's stuck with us.
