Meet Lizzy - 50% Staffy, 31% Cattle Dog, 15% Border Collie'| and 100% Love This happy smiling gal is Lizzy, a 5-year-old, 60-pound sweetheart with a heart of gold. Her DNA results show she is a wonderfully unique blend: 50% Staffordshire Terrier, 31% Australian Cattle Dog, 15% Border Collie, 2% Bulldog, and 2% American Eskimo Dog - and she is 100% loyalty, personality, and lovable goofiness. Lizzy is a smart, eager-to-please girl who knows sit, down, touch, place, and is learning several pattern games. She is fully house trained and has excellent indoor manners-she doesn't bark inside, doesn't chew things she shouldn't, and is calm, quiet, and respectful of the home. She loves to sleep in the bed with her people, but she is not allowed in the bed with her foster and she respects that boundary. Lizzy loves people and affection. Once she bonds, she bonds deeply. She's not a fan of getting up early because she needs her beauty sleep, and her absolute favorite thing is to nap with a paw on her person--before long she's dreaming and twitching. Lizzy LOVES to play. Fetch is her favorite sport-she'll sprint a full 100 feet, proudly return the ball, and happily go again and again. She enjoys hiking, exploring trails, splashing in water, and cruising in the car. She is an excellent adventure buddy. She loves splashy splash in a kiddie pool! Because she spent over 1.5 years in the shelter before entering foster care, Lizzy is still working on her comfort level around other dogs. She can be leash-reactive and will thrive with adopters willing to continue the positive-reinforcement training foundation her foster has started. She would do best as the only pet in a calm, structured, loving home. Lizzy's leash skills are improving daily with consistent reinforcement. She is easily redirected from triggers with a 'sit', 'find it', or 'look at me' command. At home, Lizzy is affectionate, loyal, and incredibly sweet. She loves toys, chews, playing fetch, and napping near her person while they work. She's independent in the best way-if you're busy, she'll entertain herself quietly and then curl up for a nap. Lizzy is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is currently in foster care through Santa Barbara County Animal Services (SBCAS) and is available for adoption through SBCAS. If you're looking for a wonderfully loving, goofy, devoted companion who will adore you with her whole heart, Lizzy is your girl. Videos and pictures of Lizzy on Instagram @805PupMatch
