About Arya Jean

Adoption Fee: 100
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Looking for a Loving Home for Our Australian Cattle Dog, Arya Jean (pronounced 'Ar-ya') We're trying to find a wonderful local home for our Adult Australian Cattle Dog, Arya. We've had her since she was a puppy, and this is genuinely incredibly heartbreaking for us. We're moving overseas, and due to recent animal import rule changes, and the long cargo journey, we can't take her in a way that would be safe or fair to her. Our goal now is to place her with a kind family who will love her as much as we do. About Arya: She's well trained and has had professional training in addition to everything we've done with her. She's sweet, smart, and a little feisty in a classic cattle-dog way, but she's gentle and great with kids. Our toddler adores her, and she's always been patient and trustworthy. She loves meeting new people, enjoys hikes and walks, but is also perfectly content relaxing at home. She isn't a big cuddler, but she'll happily roll over for belly rubs. Temperament & Home Behavior: Fully house-trained - no accidents since she was a tiny puppy. Previously crate trained; hasn't needed a crate for years. Sleeps in our bedroom on her own bed and settles well. Doesn't typically chew things around the house. Curious about food, so we keep the trash secured. Excellent at understanding and following house rules. She doesn't get on furniture in our home. In homes where she's allowed, she'll politely enjoy the couch-but when she returns to our house, she goes right back to staying off. She's great at adjusting to your routines and boundaries. Barks a normal dog amount we think Knows commands: sit, stay, heel, down, roll over, 'up up', shake and bake (shake), leave it, come Other Animals: Best as a one-dog household. Loves people but we don't think she'd thrive living with other dogs long-term. Has stayed with cats before without issues. Health & Care: Generally very healthy now. Had a past health issue that may have been autoimmune-related; she's been stable for a long time. We can share all vet details. Microchipped and up to date on care. Rides well in the car. What She Comes With: A big bag of her current food. Her supplies (bed, toys, leash, treats etc) Microchip info and vet records. What We're Looking For A nearby, loving home where she can settle in while we're still here to help with the transition. She's always adjusted well when staying with other families, and we want to make sure her move is smooth and low-stress. There will be a re-homing fee, and we're happy to answer any questions or arrange a meet-and-greet. If you think you might be the right fit for Arya, please reach out. She's a wonderful dog, and we want to find her the best possible home.
