%BD%BD%BD%BD KONA NEEDS A HOME %BD%BD%BD%BD Who has space in their heart and home for a lovely 4 year old rottie? Where Kona excels: - Beauty - Intelligence - Loyalty - Bravery - Obedience - Athleticism - Affection - Protective instincts - Respects the invisible fence - Will not wander away when off lead Where Kona struggles: - 'Sometimes' aggressive with other dogs. - Herding instincts too strong. Likes to chase horses. (I'm a horse trainer and this just does not work for me%BD'%BD|) - Has a history of hair loss. Vet originally thought it may have been allergies and put her on meds. But, now we believe it was stress related from lack of interaction, activity and affection at her original home (her family was separated due to divorce %BD%BD%BD%BD). After adopting her and bringing her to the ranch, her coat came back beautifully and has maintained excellent health. We've had her for about a year and a half. She has a great relationship with our bulldog and a few others along the way, but has had 3 separate incidents with our (intact) German Shepherd 15 month old puppies. In addition to some other aggressive behaviors with 2 other (alpha female) dogs. The good in her has kept us hopeful, but after the 3 incidents with our puppies, we can no longer risk her being part of our pack. Kona would be best suited for an active single (able bodied) adult with dog sense. And while she has NEVER shown aggression to ANY human, I would not recommend her to a home with small children. She's an excellent road dog. Travels extremely quiet and does not get sick in the car. Would perfect for someone who likes to hike. Her energy is well managed, but she has plenty of it and needs a lots of play time and interactive love and actively. She has so much love to give, but can become jealous and sometimes frantic when she feels left out. Who has a BIG heart, time and love to give??? This is an incredible dog and it absolutely breaks my heart to let her go. Praying the right person finds this post and gives this girl the life she deserves. Please share and help Kona find the right family.
