Courtesy Posting: X URGENT- SAN DIEGO, CA (SO CAL)- BONDED and LOVING FEMALE AND MALE YOUNGER CHOWS 'LYLA' AND 'JUDE' IN NEED OF A LOVING, RESPONSIBLE HOME, IDEALLY W/ CHOW EXPERIENCE- May also be okay with cats. One owner passed away, widow cannot afford and losing home- adopter or foster and rescue needed asap. May be shelter bound. Please help us find a loving, responsible home for beautiful Lyla and her handsome BFF Jude. They were taken in as older puppies by a family member in the La Mesa area after being given up by their former owner. They are now approximately 3 years old, potty trained, current on vaccinations and were fixed last after an accidental litter shortly after getting the dogs. Due to a death in the family and now losing their home, this home cannot keep them much longer, or the remaining chow (Koda, the daughter) who may be adopted separately and is now approximately 2 years old. We do not want any of these dogs to end up at the shelter. Lyla is a petite chow and Jude is more of an average size male. They do very well together and we are hoping to find a home where they can stay together. They are both said to be curious but okay with cats in their home. Like many chows, though, they can also take time to warm up to people, but once they do, the owner says they are very loving. Lyla and Jude have also been okay with other dogs outside the home, but the owner explained they have not done as well inside the home with same sex dogs. While neither dog has any reported bites, a home with no other dogs is requested to avoid future problems. Chow experience is also requested. While Lyla has no medical issues, but Jude seems to have possible entropion in one eye and is now being given lubricating drops. If we can find a foster or adopter, a rescue may assist with providing entropion surgery to fix this. Therefore. if you are interested in applying to adopt or foster Lyla and Jude, or the other female chow in this home, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is assisting with their placement. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual), an application, a vet reference and an adoption contract.
