Courtesy Posting: X URGENT- SAN DIEGO, CA (SO CAL)- APPROX 2 YR FEMALE CHOW 'KODA GIRL' IN NEED OF A LOVING, RESPONSIBLE HOME, IDEALLY W/ CHOW EXPERIENCE- PEOPLE AND DOG FRIENDLY, BUT SHY. May also be okay with cats. One owner passed away, widow cannot afford and losing home- adopter or foster and rescue needed asap. May be shelter bound. Please help us find a loving, responsible home for beautiful Koda Girl after she and her siblings were taken in by a family member in the La Mesa area after being given up by their former owner. While the other siblings have since been adopted, Koda, who was originally the shyest, but more loving one, is still in need. Koda is continuing to make progress, but after a death in the family and now losing their home, they cannot keep her much longer, or the other two chows (Lyla, who is the mom, and Jude, who are adoptable separately). We do not want any of these dogs to end up at the shelter. Koda Girl did very well with her female siblings, and is described as quite loving once she gets to know you, and we have nice video showing how affectionate she can be. She has lived with older kids, other dogs, and a cat and the family said, ' She goes for walks more and does really well on a leash now. Still very sweet and very shy. She will be scared until you sit down with her and talk to her and give her time but too much comotion scares her. She does well with other dogs except her and Lyla don't like each other very much for some reason but she does not seem to have an issue with any other dogs.' While she has been dog friendly and around the cat in the home, if you do have an another pet, a meet and greet is strongly recommended. Currently, Koda has been trained to go on pee pads inside, but also goes potty outside. She has spent a lot of in a crate be rotated in and out. We would like to see any new home keep her as an indoor but free roaming pet, and also able to take her on more regular walks, and continue with socialization. She has no reported bites or medical issues. Koda has been vaccinated and will need to be spayed as a condition of her adoption. A rescue may assist with this if we can find a foster. If you are interested in applying to adopt or foster Koda Girl, or the other two chows in this home, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is assisting with her/their placement. Chow experience is preferred. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual), an application, a vet reference and an adoption contract. A $150 donation to a chow rescue is also requested. Lyla and Jude are also available to adopt and are posted separately. We will be posting more pictures and videos of Koda on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/debbie.alder.14/posts/pfbid02Xy5bbsdBkJAHDGngzmWjMJuWGh3AcdMM55krQpNwE4HWPjUzGc2GecZE3WXRR723l Note: to view contents of link you will need to copy and paste it into your browser.
