About SKOOTER

SKOOTER is a sweet, energetic 3-year-old, 11.6 pound Shih Tzu who's ready to bring joy wherever he goes! SKOOTER is friendly with everyone he meets. His whole body wags when he greets people, and he would be an excellent companion for someone who enjoys taking their dog to work, visiting friends, or even brightening spirits in nursing homes. SKOOTER does well with dogs of all sizes. He has lots of energy and loves to play, so he would thrive in a home with another playful dog. He would be ok as an only dog as long as his family is active and gives him plenty of walks and playtime with his toys (he loves his toys!). He is good with cats. We have not had him around kids but with his personality that he shouldn't have a problem with them. SKOOTER is doing great with his housebreaking and hasn't had an accident in five days. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys going outside to explore. He would enjoy a fenced yard, and that would be ideal for him. If a fence isn't available, he'll need regular walks throughout the day to stretch his legs and burn his energy. At night, SKOOTER sleeps on a dog bed next to his foster's bed for safety, though he'd happily sleep with his people if invited. He is current on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He also had a dental cleaning. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
