NEW MEXICO ADOPTERS ONLY Age: 7 years Weight: 20 lbs. Location: ABQ, NM Don't let his punk-rock, mohawked exterior fool you! Dozer is a calm and happy little guy who just wants a cozy home of his own where he can sleep in his favorite position, upside down. A case of heartworm disease had Dozer and his buddy Roscoe in dire straits at a high-kill shelter. Since his rescue, he has completed treatment and will soon be able to put that scary episode in the rearview mirror for good. Dozer is current on vaccinations and parasite preventatives. He is house trained and crate trained, non-destructive, and loves other dogs. He's good on leash and enjoys car rides. While his behavior with children is unknown, we think he'd do fine with respectful older kids. Dozer is sponsored by Arizona Schnauzer Rescue, Inc., and is living with a foster family in Albuquerque. He's being offered to New Mexico adopters only, since he still needs a dental cleaning (which will be fully paid for by ASR) at a NM clinic. If you are interested, fill out an adoption application at www.azschnauzer.org, mentioning Dozer by name in the comments section. You may also contact Connie at 575-652-3313 for more information. The adoption fee of $400 helps to offset the cost of lifesaving medical treatment for Dozer and other dogs in ASR's care.
