I adopted a seal point cat about 2 years ago and have been struggling to make it work. I have an older special needs cat that requires hydrolyzed protein diet which is very expensive. He is fed separately with a different feeder from my younger cat. However, once he was old enough to start jumping up on my counters, he is constantly eating all of his food then eating my older cat's food. I have tried free feeding, keeping him locked in another room while im at work but that resulted in him getting destructive, tearing up the door frame and carpet under the door. As a last resort I now have to keep him locked in a dog crate while im gone. This isn't the life I wanted for him and its not only causing him unnecessary stress but myself as well. I don't know why he gorges on food the way he does but i cant afford to continue with this. I had to file bankruptcy last year and lost my care credit card as a result and have been struggling to keep up with vet bills. I'm worried he may have a thyroid issue and I cant afford to get him screened. He sits in a kennel for 10 hours a day with an automatic feeder and waterer but this isn't a good life and he deserves a home where he can thrive. He is a good cat, and loves people and gets along with my cat, hes just not a good fit with my current situation. He's already neutered, and microchipped
