About Mandy Lou

Meet Mandy Lou !! This beautiful and gentle girl has been through so much. Despite it all she's the sweetest little lady. Mandy Lou is an approx 2 year old, Poodle mix. She currently weighs 48 Pounds. She is close to full grown but still regaining weight from being starved. She also has hair loss from a terrible flea infestation. She was badly matted when she arrived. We named her after the groomer (Mandy Lou) at Puppy Palace Spa for donating her grooming and helping her feel so much better. Yes she looks a bit rough right now but she will regrow the hair with a little time. Mandy Lou will be spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of her adoption. She is heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. SHE IS NOT HYPOALLERGENIC. Simply mixing poodle with things does not do that as the doodle trend claims. With that said she does not shed much compared to a regular dog. Mandy Lou is extremely affectionate and sweet. She's very chill and wants nothing more than to be around her humans. Her gentle demeanor makes her such a great companion. She has done really well with other dogs of all sizes. She likes them and doesn't mind them at all but she would also be fine in a home without dogs. She's all about people. She is not fostered with cats so we are not sure how she would do. She has been great with all the kids she has met so far. Mandy Lou is still learning her house training. She does good on car rides and does not get sick. She is pretty good on the leash but does pull some. She's had a few potty accidents in the house while adjusting but none in her kennel. She's fine being kenneled through a normal work day. She can be vocal when crated if you're not in the same room as her. She just wants to be where you are. So far she has a low to medium energy level. She may become more energetic as she gets more comfortable. Currently she's happy to walk around the yard or lay in her dog bed. She enjoys a good bone to chew on. She knows how to sit and shake. She loves to reach her paw out and tap you so you'll hold her paw. It's adorable. She does also jump up on you gently for hugs. Despite being starved Mandy Lou has not had shown any issues sharing food, treats, or toys with people. We have not seen any issues sharing with other dogs but due to her condition we've let her eat separately so she doesn't feel rushed or threatened by another dog over food. Nothing she's done, it's just a precaution and kindness we give to dogs that have gone without food. This gorgeous girl has a wonderful and gentle personality. A real diamond in the rough. She's ready for a loyal forever family to give her the life she always deserved. ��������She will need regular grooming. This requires time to get her to and from the appointments and additional expenses to pay for it. On average a dog of this breed will need grooming every 6 weeks. This should be fully considered prior to applying to adopt her. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA.
