About Athena

My family and I are looking for a new home for our dog, Athena, a 6-year-old Pomeranian mix. I have had her since she was about 10 weeks old, and she has truly been one of my best friends. Athena is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves to curl up on the couch in a blanket, but is also just as happy to join you for a long walk. She's playful and full of energy when she wants to be, but just as content to spend the day by your side. She's crate trained, up-to-date on all of her vet care, and I'd provide her new family with everything she could need for her new home. The reason we need to rehome her is because she hasn't adjusted well to life with our daughter. As our toddler has gotten older and more mobile, Athena's anxiety has grown, and she has become aggressive toward her. We've tried training, medication, and every other option we could think of, but we've reached a point where I'm worried about our daughter's safety and Athena's quality of life. Because of this, we feel the best path forward for everyone is to find her a new home. Athena would do best in a calm, quiet home with no children and no other dogs. She can sometimes tolerate cats, but truly wants to be the center of attention. In the right home, she will be the most loving, loyal companion. Finding her a safe and loving home is our top priority. I just want her to go to someone who will love her as much as we do.
