About RAYNA

Adoption Fee: $500
Shih Tzu
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

*LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY* RAYNA is a beautiful 1%BD%BD-year-old, 9-pound Shih Tzu who was a scared stray fending for herself (for at least two months) before being brought into rescue. She was afraid at first, but within just a day or two, her sweet and loving personality began to shine through. Now she's the most affectionate little girl who adores attention, cuddles, and being close to her person. RAYNA can be a bit alpha and will fuss if another dog bothers her, but we believe a home with another dog is needed. She would do best with a slightly larger, calm dog who won't challenge her. She hasn't been tested with children, but we think she'd do fine with kids age 10 and up. Because of her prey drive, she should not be in a home with farm animals, cats, or other small critters. RAYNA has plenty of energy and loves to run, play, and do zoomies around the yard! Because she's a talented escape artist - she can climb, jump, and even dig - a secure 6-foot privacy fence is absolutely required. Please don't ask if an exception can be made; her safety depends on it. She isn't completely housebroken yet, but she's learning quickly and usually uses the doggie door to go outside. RAYNA is happiest snuggled up in bed at night, head resting on your shoulder, giving kisses and rubbing her head against you to show her love. She enjoys toys, chasing a ball, and going for walks. She also rides beautifully in the car and would love to accompany her person everywhere, as long as she's in a secure harness and leash. RAYNA has the most soulful eyes and a heart full of love. Once she knows she's safe, she will devote herself completely to her person. This little survivor will make someone a truly wonderful companion. RAYNA has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
